In 1996, Gina Archer had a deep desire to establish a therapeutic ranch that would impact youth & offer equine-assisted activities long with other therapeutic avenues to those in need. After getting certified through PATH International (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) as a therapeutic horseback riding instructor in 1996, Gina established a therapeutic equestrian program at her father's ranch in Brandon, MS. She continued providing equine therapy on the weekends while finishing her degree at the University of Southern Mississippi in Child & Family Studies. After moving to Flowery Branch, north of Atlanta, she helped establish an equestrian program for Eagle Ranch who provides healing and restoration for girls & boys in crisis. In 2008, Gina and her husband, Bradley, established the Purposeful Pony therapeutic program in Purvis, MS which provided equine therapy, an interactive petting zoo and day camps to the Pine-belt community and youth across Mississippi. Their four beautiful children have been an active part in caring for people and the program's animals as well as the amazing team of volunteers!
